3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP8407NS

Often referred to as epoxy adhesives or epoxy glue, acrylics actually belong to a different chemical family with their own characteristics. Acrylic adhesives have several features that make them simple to use, including a much faster cure time, greater tolerance for oily or untreated bonding surfaces, and the ability to bond a wide variety of materials, including almost all plastic materials. The latest acrylic adhesive formulas maintain stability at room temperature with a long shelf life.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Acrylic Metal Adhesive DP8407NS is a gray structural adhesive with high shear, peel and impact resistance for maximum bond life.

This adhesive is designed to bond stably to bare metals with minimal surface treatment (particularly bare metals such as aluminum, cold-rolled steel, galvanized steel, copper, brass and bronze) while at the same time resisting corrosion.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP8407NS can bond even to slightly oily metals with no or minimal surface treatment. It guarantees a high seal and excellent impact resistance, even at temperatures down to -40 °C. Perfect for industrial applications requiring permanent, high-strength fixings. Thanks to this adhesive, the time-consuming sanding and surface finishing process associated with welding, spot welding and mechanical fastening is no longer necessary.

The adhesive is designed to withstand powder coating and hot paint cycles up to 204°C for at least one hour. With its moderate viscosity anti-sagging formula, 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Acrylic Metal Adhesive DP8407NS prevents excessive shedding during application, allowing for high accuracy and stable placement even on vertical surfaces.

Our 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Acrylic Metal Adhesive DP8407NS has a medium viscosity for controlled dispensing and spreads to sufficiently wet the surface upon application. The mix ratio is 10:1 and offers a working time of 7 minutes, as well as rapid curing at room temperature. Offers a long shelf life, without the need for refrigeration.
